Hello, my name is Aiden.
I was rescued from Uljin local shelter in South Korea. I had been there for quite a long time. During my time in the shelter, I witnessed many of my friends being taken away to a terrifying place. I would hear their painful cries - and then they never came back. It was heartbreaking and scary, and it made me lose trust in people.
Because I was so afraid, I would hide behind the small doghouse in my cage, trying not to be seen. I thought that if no one noticed me, I wouldn’t be taken away too.
But there was one woman who would visit from time to time. She called herself a volunteer, and she was different. She spoke to me with a warm, loving voice and always brought delicious treats. I was still scared, but I began to peek out from behind my head out just enough to say hello - and that’s how I got the nickname “Bbaekkom”, a Korean word that describes someone peeking out shyly.
Thanks to her and many kind hearts who shared my story on social media, I was finally rescued from the shelter. I was given a new life, a loving foster home in Korea, and even a new name - Aiden!
At first, I still couldn’t trust people. I stayed curled up on my cushion, only poking my head out just like I used to. But with patience, love, and support from my foster family, I slowly learned that the world isn’t so scary anymore. Now I love going on walks and playing with any other happy pup!
I am a charming little dog with short legs - people say I look a bit like a Welsh Corgi! I enjoy playing with other dogs, sniffing the world on walks, and most of all, being loved. Once terrified of the outside world, I’ve now become a dog who knows how to love and be loved.
And now, I am finally ready to find my forever family. Will you be the one to give me the happy life I’ve always dreamed of?
