Meet Max! 🐾

Max’s story began in the countryside of Gwangju, South Korea. When he was only about two months old, he was found near the foot of a mountain with a severe injury to his left ankle, believed to have been caused by a snare or trap.

Because of the condition of his injury, Max was placed on the shelter’s euthanasia list. Thankfully, a veterinarian learned about him in time and stepped in to save his life.

Max received extensive treatment and made an incredible recovery. His skin has completely healed, although the damage to his ankle left him unable to fully extend one leg. It doesn’t slow him down, though—Max walks, runs, plays, and enjoys life just like any other happy dog.

Through everything he has been through, Max has remained incredibly sweet and trusting. He is smart, affectionate, playful, and loves spending time with other dogs. Everyone who meets him quickly falls for his cheerful personality—and his adorable little wiggly butt.

Max has already overcome so much. Now all he needs is the part of his story he hasn’t found yet: a family of his own. ❤️
