Rusty was rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea and was given the chance to leave his difficult past behind and begin a new life.
Despite what he has been through, Rusty has an incredibly loving and trusting heart. He absolutely loves people. He is naturally friendly and social, and even when meeting someone for the first time, he happily approaches them and quickly makes friends. He loves attention and affection and truly enjoys being around people.
Rusty also does very well with other dogs. When meeting a new dog, he approaches gently and politely rather than rushing in. He is friendly and curious and enjoys being around his canine friends.
He loves going for walks and also rides well in the car, making him a wonderful companion for everyday outings and adventures. Rusty enjoys food and treats and is very food-motivated, but he also knows how to wait patiently — one of the many little things that shows just how smart he is. He is attentive, eager to learn, and picks things up quickly.
Rusty has a medium energy level. He enjoys being active, exploring outside, and going on walks, but he also loves simply spending time with his people.
Since arriving in San Diego from Korea, Rusty has been settling beautifully into his foster home. Every day, we are getting to know more of his sweet personality, and he continues to impress us with how affectionate, social, and adaptable he is.
After everything Rusty has been through, he is finally ready for what he deserves most — a loving forever family of his own.
